Being an Amazon Prime member certainly comes with its share of benefits. The video streaming and Kindle book rentals are nice, but it’s the two-day shipping that’s a big deal. The thing is that those “two days” are usually two business days, so if you order on Thursday, you probably won’t get your stuff until Monday at the earliest, right? Not anymore.
It has now been announced by Amazon that if you are a Prime member, they may start delivering orders to your door on Sundays too. This is via a special deal that Amazon has conjured up with the people at the United States Postal Service (USPS). There is a catch, of course.
The only areas where the Sunday delivery service are being offered are in Los Angeles and New York City. With this addition, USPS is “now delivering packages seven days a week in select cities,” said Postmaster General Patrick R. Donahoe. “Customers can expect the same reliable and valued service that the Postal Service currently provides.”
The plan is to expand this Sunday service to areas like Houston, New Orleans, Dallas and Phoenix is the near future.
